The FCDO-funded project “Building Resilience and Addressing Vulnerability to Emergencies” (BRAVE) is designed to empower communities in Gilgit Baltistan and Chitral to proactively address the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change. The project is implemented in partnership with the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF), with the Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) and the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) serving as downstream implementing partners in Astore, Ghizer, and Chitral districts. Through these initiatives, BRAVE activities aim to foster a culture of resilience and adaptation, bridging the humanitarian-development-climate nexus.
The project seeks to create a holistic approach that addresses the immediate needs of communities while building their long-term capacity to cope with climate change. This workshop provides a comprehensive overview of the project. It delves into the key findings and insights gathered, highlighting the effectiveness of the project’s interventions and the lessons learned from their implementation. The findings presented in this workshop will showcase the project’s impact and provide valuable recommendations for future resilience-building initiatives.
